If you are having trouble getting another position, it may not have anything to do with your professional image. It may have to do with your references. You can hire a reference checking firm to check your references to see if someone is undermining your career options. This happens more often than realized and can be very hard to prove. If you've reached the stage of practically being offered a job only to have it rescinded close to signing time, it may be a problem with your references.
You can hire a recruiter who can help you by getting feedback on your interviewing and hiring potential. If you get to the stage where you are offered a job and then it is rescinded an employer will be willing to tell the recruiter that a bad reference came in. This will be given to you as feedback and you can finally figure out who is trying to sabotage your ability to get a job and maneuver around them.
